20 years of international experience
Even though GSSI was founded in 2002, our roots reach all the way back to the 1980s when global supply chain management was just emerging as a new model for 21st century service and manufacturing. James Letzel, CEO and Founder of GSSI, started traveling to Asia as a VP of Sales for one of the largest providers of print and related services. He was already sourcing, networking, and building international relationships when other American businesses were just beginning to see the value of globalization and recognizing the huge sourcing potential in countries such as China.
A true pioneer in global business, GSSI stands today on a strong foundation of networks and relationships that were formed in these early days of global supply chain sourcing. The connections we built with leading manufacturers and senior-level government officials are a crucial part of our business today, and they are complemented by our network of In-Country Managers. From the very beginning of GSSI, we recognized the critical importance of having full-time In-Country Managers to monitor suppliers, oversee production, and shepherd projects through to completion.
What started in East Asia has now spread across the globe. We have business relationships and In-Country Managers all over the globe – from Latin America to Europe to Australia. We’re continually identifying new opportunities, entering new markets, and forming new relationships.
Today our responsibilities flow in two directions: not only do North American firms ask us to source products for them overseas, but firms in other countries are asking us to act as their representatives in the U.S. We’re also being asked to serve in a consulting capacity for companies in America and abroad that seek to build global sourcing platforms or break into new markets.
GSSI is more than a sourcing partner. We’re the go-to partner for anyone who wants to do business internationally and take advantage of the global network, best practices, partnerships, systems, and processes that we have already put in place.
